A lot of labor disputes occurred after Labor Contracts Law was issued in 2008. Companies are required higher and higher management of labors and human resources. The problems about labor have become the most concerned issues for companies due to the current mass labor disputes happened frequently. Therefore, our firm and The Association for The Promotion of International Trade, Japan published the book, The Manual for The Management of Chinese Labor, the Study of Cases.
The book selected the typical cases we have processed during the legal services for long years, and also socially-concerned cases, which are very practical. Prof. Baohua Dong from East China University of Political Science and Laws is the supervisor of the book. As the advisory consultant of the legislative group of Labor Contract Law, he has participated in the proof and draft of Labor Law and Regulations of Shanghai on Contracts of Labor, and provided the beneficial direction for the book.
Our law firm and The Association for The Promition of International Trade, Japan held the seminar on the management of labor together in Shanghai Mall on March 22 for the memorial of the publication of the book, The Manual for The Management of Chinese Labor, the Study of Cases. The seminar was given by Professor Baohua Dong form East China University of Political Science and Law and Senior Lawyer Weimin Mao from our law firm. The seminar focused on the labor problems due to the remove of Bestbuy from Chinese market, the strikes caused by the employees of automakers, the shortage of labors in the coastal areas and so on. They talked about how to deal with various labor disputes in the current time of the recruiment crisis with the application of the introduction and analysis of many real cases. The seminar concerned closely to the hotly-discussed problems of labor, and receieved due recognition for its practicality as well.
